Free People Free People is a non-profit organization rooted in freedom of all kinds. We want to promote freedom from literal slavery, as well as encourage healthy, beautiful freedom being fleshed out and championed in the lives of all people. Our Online Interns will be enthusiastic, creative, detail-oriented and interested in attempting to help us in our grassroots marketing and development efforts.

Time Commitment
The Developmental Marketing Intern will work approximately one hour per week for a minimum of 10 weeks. This is an unpaid internship.

Responsibilities
An Online Intern will:
  • Promote Free People Free People through the use of marketing that is socially relevant (most specifically to the college and young adult community).
  • Attempt to generate speaking engagements and other public presentation opportunities by calling/writing companies, organizations, and churches.
  • Inform people of our Liberia Village Improvement Project, an effort to help one specific community advance in their efforts to recover from the oppression they faced during Liberia's Civil War. The Liberia Village Improvement Project is a holistic attempt to provide clean drinking water, medical supplies, education, and other necessities to the village of Ziatown, Liberia, Africa.
  • Organize fundraisers for FreePeopleFreePeople.

Qualifications
An Online Intern must:
  • Understand and attempt to live out the vision of Free People Free People.
  • Have strong oral, written and communication/presentation skills.
  • Be efficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, as well as online skills.

Course Credit & Compensation
While there is no financial compensation for this internship, if an intern requires course credits for the internship, details need to be provided in a formal letter.


Promotion ideas include:
  • Personal email to friends and family
  • Asking friends/followers on Facebook and Twitter to spread the word and donate
  • Posting videos on YouTube
  • Blogging
  • Making phone calls and text messages to personal contacts
  • Printing and Posting flyers at work/home/school buildings
  • Organizing fundraisers, parties and/or events (at home or at a venue)
  • Getting journalists to write/video/feature the organization
  • Traditional media outlets (newspaper, radio, television)
